Trail Running calendar near Rosebush 2026-2027

Trail Half Marathon Wales runs in Margam Country Park and Forest on 14 November 2026, offering a fully marked half marathon and 10k on forest trails with checkpoints, safety cover, and included car parking.

An 8.8 km fell race with 714 m of ascent around Llyn y Fan across remote moorland, requiring navigation and mountain skills. Limited to 50 runners, with entry refunds for car share and cyclists.

A seven hour Time Challenge at Dare Valley Country Park where participants choose their distance. Medals for 3 km finishers, distance pins for longer efforts, goody bags with vegan options, aid tables and free parking.

A short but steep fell race near Llanfoist and Abergavenny covering 5.7 km with 485 m of ascent. The course is mostly unmarked, needs basic navigation and can be affected by poor weather.

Two trail distances on 28 November 2026 around Machen, featuring wooded single track, ridgeway exposure and steep climbs. The half course is fully marked while the marathon requires self navigation with marshals at key points.

The final race of the 2026 RTT Series takes place in Afan Forest with separate 5 km and 10 km routes from Bryn Bettws Lodge. The event features chip timing, finisher medals, marked and marshalled routes and water stations.

Ras Y Mast is a club organised running event held at Blaenwern Holiday Centre in Llanybydder, Ceredigion, featuring a mixed surface course of 6.5 miles and separate junior and senior races.

A lap based road event at Rhydycar, Merthyr Tydfil, on a 5.3 km AUKCM certified tarmac circuit along the Taff Trail. Runners choose how many laps to complete within a seven hour limit and can opt for a no medal entry.

December 2026

Winter trail races through Afan Forest and the Rhigos range finishing at Dare Valley Country Park. Options include a 34 mile ultra, a marathon and a linear half with marked routes, checkpoints and a compulsory kit list.

A trail half marathon on mixed terrain at Bridgend Miniature Railway Centre with a marked multi-section route, limited to 70 runners and a prize for imaginative Christmas fancy dress.

A hill race on the Skirrid near Llanvihangel Crucorny on 19 December 2026, covering 5.7 km with 450 m ascent. The route runs from a field start up to the ridge and summit, then down the north west ridge, with roadside parking and a kit dump..

A Christmas Carol bobble hat run at Dare Valley Country Park offering distances from 3 km to ultra and a 7 hour Time Challenge; finishers receive a themed medal, bobble hat and goody bag, with aid stations, toilets and free parking on site.

A no frills, self guided winter trail through the Marches with routes of about 30 miles and about 16 miles, linking Ludlow, Aymestrey and Kington across hills, limestone tops and valleys.

A two hour night navigation event near Rosebush featuring a *16 km* woodland route with 660 m climb, a pre-marked map, compulsory kit and required navigation experience. Entry is online with a £10 fee.

February 2027

A backyard ultra near Crickhowell on a 4.167 mile loop combining trail and tarmac. First eleven loops must be completed each within an hour and a final lap is raced to determine the winner.

A winter mountain trail event from Brecon to Cardiff featuring a 47.5 mile ultra over 11 summits and a 26.2 mile marathon from Merthyr, both on unmarked routes with GPS navigation and staffed checkpoints.

A one way, fully marked 70k ultramarathon along the Taff Trail from Brecon to Nantgarw. The route moves from mountain landscapes to former industrial valleys and includes coach transfer to the start, checkpoints and live GPS tracking.

A 7 hour Time Challenge at Dare Valley Country Park on 28 February 2027 offering flexible distances from 3 km up to ultra and 50 km, with medals, distance pins, goody bags and on-course aid at each lap.

March 2027

Marked trail runs in the Black Mountains from Crickhowell, Powys, with 10, 20 and 40 mile options, stocked checkpoints, mandatory kit checks and cut off times of 5, 8 and 16 hours respectively.

April 2027
