Ras Dau Gopa Aberystwyth Twin Peaks

The Ras Dau Gopa Aberystwyth Twin Peaks is a multi-terrain running event featuring both senior and junior races. The event starts and finishes on the Aberystwyth Promenade near the Bandstand, which serves as the race headquarters. The course utilizes various surfaces, including pavement, gravel tracks, rocky paths, grass, and mud.

The senior race covers a distance of 11.7 km with a total ascent of 237 meters. The route heads south from the promenade, circling the harbour before ascending Pen Dinas. At the summit, runners pass the hillfort and monument before descending toward the promenade. The second half of the race involves a climb up Constitution Hill, crossing the cliff railway on a rocky path, followed by a tarmac road descent back to the finish line.

Junior participants can take part in the Ras Consti races, which are divided by age group:

  • 1.77 km for juniors aged 11 and under.
  • 2.57 km for secondary school age participants (ages 12-15).

Registration and number pickup take place on the morning of the event at the Bandstand. Facilities include informal bag storage at the headquarters and access to public toilets nearby. Water is provided at a station near the halfway point for the senior race and at the finish area for all participants. The event permits the use of bone-conducting headphones, but traditional headphones are not allowed. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
