Gower Ultra 50, Ultra Bach & Trail Race

Event overview

The Gower Ultra 50, Ultra Bach and Trail Race are three linear long-distance trail races on Saturday 4 October 2025. The races follow the Wales Coast Path in the Gower Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and pass beaches, bays, coves, farmland and fishing villages. Minimum age to enter is 18. Entries open 17 November 2024 and close 26 September 2025. Entry fees listed are: Gower Ultra 50 £85.00, Gower Ultra Bach £55.00, Gower Trail £42.00. An optional coach start is available for £10 (limited places). The event organiser is Run Walk Crawl.

Route and race services

The Ultra 50 circumnavigates the Gower peninsula. The route starts on cliffs above Limeslade Bay, drops to Mumbles Pier, follows the Swansea Bay coast path, continues via Clyne Woods to the north coast and the Loughor Estuary, then returns along southern cliff tops and beaches via Rhossili Bay, Worms Head and beaches including Port Eynon, Oxwich, Three Cliffs, Caswell and Langland to Rams Tor. The Ultra Bach joins the Ultra 50 route at Weobley Castle for the final 34 miles; the Trail race joins later so all three converge on the southern coast.

The route mainly follows marked Wales Coast Path signs; competitors must navigate using GPS, WCP signs and a map with instructions. Aid and services include regular checkpoints with food, GPS tracking, finishers medal and food, event buff, after race party, an on site running shop, medical cover, marshals and optional race clothing.
