North Coast 110 / Exmoor Coast events

The North Coast series offers multiple self-navigated trail distances along the North Devon coast and across Exmoor, following the South West Coast Path. GPS tracking is included for all main routes. The event group lists five distance options.

  • 110 miles North Coast 110 Mile Ultra
  • 65 km Hartland Coast Ultra
  • 114 km North Coast 110 km Ultra
  • 58 km Exmoor Coast Ultra
  • 38 km Exmoor Coast Challenge

The 110 mile race starts from Hartland Quay and includes nearly 6,000 m of elevation gain and about 12 hours of darkness; entry requires a previous 50 km finish. It passes Hartland Point, Clovelly, and both the Torridge and Taw estuaries. The Hartland Coast Ultra joins the longer route from Hartland Quay to Barnstaple; its final 16 km are on tarmac with a climb over the Taw Bridge to Barnstaple.

The 114 km North Coast route runs from Barnstaple around Braunton Burrows, Saunton Sands, Croyde, Woolacombe, Morte Point, Ilfracombe and Combe Martin, then follows the same final section as the 110 mile course to Minehead.

The Exmoor Coast Ultra runs from Combe Martin to Minehead across Exmoor National Park and includes coastal woodland, Culbone Hill (433 m), and Great Hangman sea cliff (244 m). Transport options are noted from Minehead or Barnstaple to respective starts. Some distances carry ITRA points and UTMB index status as listed by the organiser.
