About the race
The North Coast 110 / Exmoor Coast Ultra is a multi-distance coastal trail event on the South West Coast Path, held across 7 and 8 November 2026 and finishing at the South West Coast Path Monument in Minehead. The event offers a selection of five route options that follow coastal and estuary sections of North Devon and Exmoor National Park. The organiser is Climb South West Ltd. Transport is available to the starts.
Distances offered include:
- 178 km (110 miles) - Hartland Quay to Minehead
- 114 km (110 km) - Barnstaple to Minehead
- 65 km - Hartland Coast Ultra from Hartland Quay
- 58 km - Exmoor Coast Ultra from Combe Martin
- 38 km - Exmoor Coast Challenge from Lynton
The longest route lists about 6,000 m of elevation gain and a maximum permitted time of 38 hours; completion requires a previous event of 50+ km as a minimum qualification. Route descriptions note steep and frequent hills on the Hartland sections, flatter running around the Torridge and Taw estuaries, and coastal climbs past Braunton Burrows, Saunton Sands, Baggy Point, Woolacombe, Morte Point, Ilfracombe and Combe Martin. The Exmoor section traverses the length of Exmoor National Park, including coastal woodland, Culbone Hill at 433 m, and Great Hangman at 244 m. Entry fees vary by distance.
