Bude Pirate Run 2026
The Bude Pirate Run takes place on Sunday 20 September 2026. The course is about 8 miles and runs mostly off road with short sections of road, using coast path, fields and wooded areas. The route includes hilly terrain and can be slippery and muddy when wet. The start and finish are on Maer Down at Crooklets, Bude.
Event headquarters and registration are at Bude Surf Life Saving Club adjacent to Crooklets Beach Car Park. Public parking is available at Crooklets Beach Car Park and at Rosies Café; parking charges apply. Public toilets are located at Crooklets Beach Car Park. Outdoor showers are at the rear of the toilet block but their operation cannot be guaranteed and charges may apply. There is no baggage storage; competitors are asked to leave belongings in their vehicles.
Entries open on 6 May 2026 and close on 18 September 2026. The minimum age is 17. Entry fees are £18 for UKA members and £20 for non-members. Entrants may adjust or swap entries via the SiEntries system up to the closing date; no alterations, swaps or entries on the day are allowed after the closing date. Refunds and deferrals are not offered.
Two water stations are planned at approximately 3 and 6 miles, with water also at the finish. All finishers receive a pasty with choices of Steak, Cheese & Onion or Vegal; pasty requests should be made before 11 September to help guarantee supply and gluten free options are not available. The event is part of the Cornwall Multi Terrain Series and held under Trail Running Association licence. Series rules prohibit headphones and no dogs are allowed. Prizes include overall and age-category awards, and team prizes; only one individual prize is awarded per winner. Results will be published on the organiser's website after the race.
