Bude Pirate Run

The Bude Pirate Run is an approximately 8ish miles multi-terrain race on Sunday 20th September 2026 around Maer Down and Crooklets, Bude. The route is mostly off road with short road sections and includes coast path, fields and wooded areas; it can be slippery and muddy when wet. The race is part of the Cornwall Multi Terrain Series and piratical fancy dress is encouraged.

Event headquarters and registration are at Bude Surf Life Saving Club, adjacent to Crooklets Beach Car Park. Public parking is available at Crooklets Beach Car Park and at Rosies Café; parking charges apply. Public toilets are at the Crooklets Beach Car Park. Outdoor council-operated showers are at the rear of the toilet block but availability cannot be guaranteed and charges may apply. There will be no baggage storage; entrants are advised to leave belongings in their vehicle.

Entrants can adjust or swap their entry on the SiEntries system up to the closing date for entry on 14th September 2025. After that date no alterations, swaps or entries on the day are permitted. No refunds or deferrals are offered. Age limit is 17 years or older. Two water stations will be provided at about 3 and 6 miles and water will be available at the finish; runners who expect to need more hydration should bring their own. Headphones and dogs are not permitted and use of headphones may lead to disqualification.

Prizes include the first three male and female finishers, first male and female affiliated teams, and age-group awards from under 35 through 70 and over. A 12 mile off road run across the Clovelly Estate on 3 May 2026, organised by RNLI Events. The course features steep hills and views, tickets are shown from £33.22 to £38.62 and the event is for 18 plus.

A five mile multi terrain race around the Boconnoc Estate near Lostwithiel on 6 May 2026. Organised by East Cornwall Harriers, the event uses paths, woodland and road and offers free field parking.

Trail races at Roadford Lake on 16 May 2026 offer 10.5 km and 5 km laps, with a half marathon run as two laps of the longer course. Kids races for ages 3 to 11 allow adults to run free and entries include chip timing and a finisher medal.

A fell running event at Meldon Reservoir featuring a five mile senior race climbing 1,362 ft to High Willhays and return, plus junior races over 2 km and 4 km. The course requires self navigation and includes compulsory checkpoints.
