Running Events Devon - Steam Challenge 2026

Running Events Devon will hold the Steam Challenge on Sunday 30 August 2026 at a new venue in Bridestowe, Station Road, EX20 4HF. The course is a scenic out and back on an old disused train line with each lap measuring 5.3 km.

The event is an 8 hour timed format and uses a TUGG system, Turn Up Get Going, which allows flexible arrival combined with a fixed cutoff for completion. Participants may complete as many laps as they can within the permitted time; finishers receive a medal. The event notes that entrants of all abilities can take part and that finishing one lap or multiple laps counts toward a finish.

Places are limited to 70 entrants. Entries close on 27 August 2026 and the minimum age is 18 years. Entry categories and fees listed for this event include affiliated and unattached options, with lower priced options that do not include a medal or additional perks. If capacity is reached, later entrants will be offered a bespoke medal from the selection available on the day.

The organiser is Running Events Devon. Local accommodation recommended in the event details includes the Fox and Hounds, which offers rooms, a bunk house and camping plus food on site. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
