The Dartmoor Crossing / Great Escape

The event takes place on 1 August 2026 with the event centre and finish at Ivybridge Rugby Club, PL21 0LR. Entries open 29 August 2025 and close 29 July 2026. Registration is managed through the SiEntries system. Camping is available on-site at £20 per pitch per night; this price also applies to camper vans and mobile homes. Food and drink will be available from lunchtime and the bar will be open. The event offers optional XCover for possible refunds and bespoke event t-shirts and medals for finishers.

The Crossing is a 33.5-mile route that crosses open moorland, visits Belstone and Postbridge, and finishes at Ivybridge. The course includes two Dartmoor 600 m summits and records 1,119 m of ascent and 1,516 m of descent. It is fully marked and marshalled, with 2 fully stocked aid stations and 2 remote water-stops. The time limit is 9.5 hours. Minimum age is 20 years.

The Great Escape covers the final 15.5 miles of The Crossing, starting from Princetown and finishing at Ivybridge. The route crosses the head of the Erme Valley and follows parts of Abbots Way before the descent into Ivybridge. It is fully marked and marshalled with 2 water stops only. The time limit is 4.5 hours. Minimum age is 17 years.
