The Dartmoor Crossing / Great Escape

The event comprises two trail races that finish at Ivybridge Rugby Club in Devon. Entries open 29 August 2025 and close 29 July 2026. Camping is available on site for £20 per pitch per night, including camper vans and mobile homes.

Distances

  • The Crossing: 33.5 miles across moorland.
  • The Great Escape: 15.5 miles, final section of The Crossing.

The Crossing crosses open moorland and two of the Dartmoor 600 m summits. The course visits Belstone, Postbridge, and finishes in Ivybridge, and includes 1,119 m of ascent and 1,516 m of descent. The course is fully marked and marshalled, and includes two fully stocked aid stations plus two remote water stops. Time limit is 9.5 hours. Minimum age is 20 years. All finishers receive a bespoke medal. Bespoke event t-shirts are available to purchase through the entry system. A coach transfer from Ivybridge to the start is offered for £15.

The Great Escape begins in Princetown and follows the final 15.5 miles of The Crossing. The route crosses the head of the Erme Valley, traverses the Erme canyons and Abbots Way, then descends into Ivybridge. The course is fully marked and marshalled and includes two water stops. Trail runs nearby

A chip timed trail run along the South West Coast Path covering 22 miles with about 4,000 feet of ascent. Solo, relay and a Sidmouth to Seaton half course are offered, with checkpoints, baggage transfer and optional coach transport.

A multi distance event along the Two Moors Way across Devon, featuring a 112 mile non stop coast to coast ultra plus 75 km, 100 km and marathon stages. Participants navigate the waymarked route with live GPS tracking and checkpoint support.

UTMB Index

A guided countryside run from Bovey Tracey to Lustleigh and back, about 10.5 miles with roughly 2000 ft of ascent. The route follows paths and lanes via Shaptor Down and Gladstone Rock; trail shoes and a waterproof are recommended.

Experience the rugged beauty of the South West Coast Path in South Devon with three distance options. Runners follow a hilly multi-terrain course from Kingswear or Babbacombe to a scenic finish at Shaldon.
