The Dartmoor Crossing / Great Escape

The event comprises two separate trail races across Dartmoor with a shared finish at Ivybridge Rugby Club. Distances offered:

  • 33.5 miles The Crossing, a baby ultra.
  • 15.5 miles The Great Escape, a long half-marathon.

The Crossing follows open moorland and visits the villages of Belstone, Postbridge, and Ivybridge. The course includes two Dartmoor 600 m summits, about 1,119 m of ascent and 1,516 m of descent, and is fully marked and marshalled. Support includes two fully stocked aid stations and two remote water stops. Time limit for the Crossing is 9.5 hours. Minimum age for entry is 20 years. A bespoke finisher medal is provided and event t-shirts are available to purchase.

The Great Escape starts from Princetown and covers the final 15.5 miles of The Crossing. The route crosses the head of the Erme Valley, traverses the Erme canyons and Abbots Way, and finishes at Ivybridge Rugby Club. The course is fully marked and marshalled with two water stops. Time limit for the Great Escape is 4.5 hours. Minimum age for entry is 17 years. A bespoke finisher medal is provided and t-shirts can be purchased.

An evening fell race at Merrivale on June 17 with a senior 9.5 km course featuring steep climbs, ridge sections and fast descents. Limited entries, on the day registration if spaces remain, and basic facilities including parking and refresh..

A multi distance coastal ultra along the Jurassic Coast World Heritage site from the Poole area to Exmouth. Distances from 33 km to 105 miles follow the South West Coast Path with self navigation, checkpoint support and live GPS tracking.

A lakeside running event at Siblyback Lake offering 2.5 km, 4.8 km and 9.6 km races plus an eight hour Siblython endurance challenge. On site camping, a café, personalised bibs and medals for all participants.

A moorland fell run in Meavy on Dartmoor featuring a roughly 6-mile Burrator Horseshoe, a 4-mile Sheepstor Challenge and junior races, held alongside the Meavy Oak Fair to raise funds for local parish charities.
