Running Events Devon - Train-ing Challenge 2026

The Train-ing Challenge takes place on Saturday 29 August 2026 at a new venue in Bridestowe. The event is an 8 hour timed challenge held on an out and back route along an old disused train line. Each lap measures 5.3k and follows a scenic, undulating surface that includes off road and paved sections.

Organisers operate a "TUGG" Turn Up Get Going system that allows flexible arrival within the event period with a fixed cut off time to complete laps. Participants may complete any number of laps within the permitted time; people who finish one lap or many laps within the limit are recorded as finishers and may collect a medal supplied for the event.

Trail runs nearby

Langstone Fell Race runs from Peter Tavy across Coombe Tor, Cox Tor and the Langstone over roughly 10 km, with 2k and 5k options and junior races; parking, toilets and post-race refreshments are provided.

A guided trail run of about 10 miles through woodland tracks, river valley paths and minor lanes around the Tamar Valley, starting at the Tamar Trails carpark. Steady guided pace; trail shoes, waterproof and snacks recommended.

A timed off-road challenge from HMP Dartmoor where participants choose a route on public rights of way and aim for the greatest straight-line distance in 6, 12, or 24 hours. All entrants carry GPS trackers and receive a medal.

Muskie Madness is an unmeasured 10k multi terrain race on 31 May 2026 at Marine Academy Plymouth. The course mixes on road and wooded trail sections and the venue offers showers, bag drop, food and water stations.
