Abersoch Coast Trail

The Abersoch Coast Trail takes place in the seaside village of Abersoch on the Llyn Peninsula in North Wales. The event features several running options that use coastal paths, tracks, trails and stretches of beach, with routes passing Tudwal’s Islands, Porth Ceiriad and, on the 20K, out to Porth Neigwl before returning to finish on Abersoch Beach.

Distances include:

  • 20K trail
  • 10K trail
  • 2K Beach Blast
  • Torchlight 2K Beach Run (evening event)

The course surface is mainly tracks and trails with some short road sections and a final kilometre on Abersoch Beach for some races. Drink stations are provided along the route, including at 6 km, 11 km, 14 km and at the finish. Race management includes clear direction signs, marshals, professional traffic management and medic support.

Timing is provided using ChronoChip bibtag technology and the event is affiliated to the Welsh Athletics Association, so entrants must follow Welsh Athletics rules. All finishers receive a zinc alloy medal with a bespoke lanyard, recovery food and drink, and a technical race T-shirt. Prize trophies are awarded and there is a prize fund of £1,000. The finish area on the beach includes music, a compere, massages, a beach bar and food options. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
