September 2026

A short but steep fell race held during Kilnsey Show on 1 September 2026, featuring a rope-assisted rock chimney descent for seniors, junior crag races with scree descents, limited pre-entry for seniors and specific footwear requirements.

A 10k trail race in Malham forming the third event of the Due North Trail Trilogy. The route passes Malham Cove and Malham Tarn and climbs to Weets Top before a long descent; drinks stations and a post race meal are provided.

A seaside trail run from Hornsea on an out and back Trans Pennine Trail route. Multiple distances from 10 km to marathon, with feed stations every three miles, marshals, on-course signage and a finisher medal.

A Backyard Ultra at Hardwick Hall Estate where runners repeat a 4.16 mile loop every hour until only one remains. The route crosses estate trails, farmland and woodland with on site aid and first aid support.

A fell race run alongside Britain’s historic Longshaw Sheepdog Trials, held on a route across the Longshaw estate. The course is about 7.1 km with 237 m of climb and entrant admission includes access to the sheepdog trials.

A 23 mile LDWA challenge around Malhamdale, starting and finishing at Gargrave Village Hall with four staffed checkpoints and a hot meal at the finish. Entries are limited to 200 and participants must bring their own mug.

A short fell race in Burnsall on 6 September 2026 with a 1.50 mile route and about 240 m of climb across fields, heather and a summit section. Parking is usually in a nearby field for a small charge.

A long fell race of about 17 miles and 1,066 m of climb around Totley, Sheffield. The unmarked, partially marshalled route requires self-navigation and mandatory FRA kit, with two water stations and limited parking near the pavilion.

Scenic trail runs in Tibthorpe, Driffield offering 4 miles and 8 miles routes for runners and canicross participants. Chipped timing, medals, prizes, dog awards, parking, toilets and post race food are provided.

Experience the scenic trails of East Yorkshire with or without a canine companion. This event offers 4 and 8 mile chipped trail runs starting from Field House Coffee Barn with medals for all finishers.

Enjoy a Peak District fell race at Oxspring Playing Field, a punchy 6.2 km course with 190 m of ascent through scenic terrain. On the day entries welcome for a modest fee and the event is part of an eight race series.

A **100 mile** ultra on runnable trails through Sherwood Forest and towpaths, with two forest loops, well stocked aid stations, a 30 hour cutoff, drop bag points and pacers allowed from about mile 51.

A 50 mile circular ultramarathon through the Lincolnshire Wolds starting from Swallow Village Hall. The course gains about 1,370 m of elevation, features four aid stations, an 18 hour cut off and limited entry for 150 runners.

A 10 miles trail run across the North York Moors following part of the Lykewake Walk, visiting Lilla Howe and Louven Howe with moorland terrain and coastal views. Entries are limited to 50, minimum age 18, with a three hour time limit.

An off-road full marathon and a 14.8 mile half marathon held each September, both with substantial ascent, mandatory FRA kit and stocked feed stations; entries often sell out and chip timing is used with live updates.
