Kilnsey Crag Fell Race
The Kilnsey Crag Fell Race is held as part of the Kilnsey Show and is listed by the British Open Fell Runners Association. The senior course includes a descent down a narrow rock chimney that is negotiated with the assistance of a rope. Junior races include steep scree descents.
The published race distance is 1.00 miles ( 1.60 km ) with approximately 350 feet ( 100 meters ) of climb.
Age categories include under 12, under 14, under 17 and seniors. The minimum age for the junior crag race is nine years on the day. There is no dedicated fell race for under 9 but a one lap track race is organised for that age group. There are also handicapped track events for seniors, including sprint and mile races.
Entry to the senior race is strictly limited to a maximum of 100 runners for safety reasons. Senior entry is by pre entry only and there is no entry on the day. All competitors must declare and collect their race number from BOFRA registration and must wear suitable footwear, for example studded fell shoes; road shoes are not suitable.
Location is given as on the B6160 between Grassington and Kettlewell, BD23 5PS. What Three Words location is ///headstone.managed.loose. A race map and profile are not available on the event page. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
