Event Overview

The AIRE Ultra Trail and Super Trail Half event takes place at Piglove By The River, a beer garden in the Climate Innovation District in Leeds. The event has two distances: an Ultra Trail of approximately 43-45km (27-28 miles) and a Super Trail Half of approximately 22km (14 miles).

Course Details

The course is described as very fast and flat, following riverside trails. It consists of public footpaths, riverside trails, and some tarmac paths. The route passes St Aiden's and Fairburn Ings Nature Reserves. It is marked with pink arrows, and road crossings and turnaround points are marshalled. A couple of small bridges with steps are present on the route.

Facilities and Inclusions

The Race HQ is at Piglove By The River. Facilities include toilets and bag storage. All finishers receive a locally made medal and a pint from Piglove Brewery.

  • The Ultra Trail has at least five water stations, four of which provide snacks.
  • The Super Trail Half has at least two water stations with snacks. Spot prizes are also offered. Mandatory kit is generally not required, except possibly depending on weather for the ultra distance.

Logistics

The minimum age to participate is 18. Parking is available at CitiPark Leeds Dock, and the venue is close to Granary Wharf, Royal Armouries, and Leeds Station. Organizers encourage travel by foot, bicycle, or public transport. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.

Lets Motor along the Towpath in Rodley is a canal-side trail event on a flat towpath with distances from 10k to ultramarathon. The course is signed and marshalled, has regular feed stations and a bespoke finisher medal.
