AIRE Ultra Trail and Super Trail Half

This event is staged by Great Owl Running at Piglove By The River, Clarence Road, Leeds LS10 1EE in Citu’s Climate Innovation District. The race centres on riverside trails and public footpaths close to Granary Wharf, the Royal Armouries and Leeds Station. Minimum age is 18.

Distances:

  • Aire Ultra Trail: approx 43-45 km / 27-28 miles
  • Aire Super Trail Half: approx 22 km / 14 miles

The course follows the river and is described as very flat with good quality footpaths. There are a couple of small bridges with steps to cross. The route is signposted with pink arrows. Road crossings and turnaround points will be marked and marshalled. The route passes St Aiden's and Fairburn Ings Nature Reserves.

Facilities at Race HQ include toilets and bag storage. All finishers receive a locally made medal and a pint provided by Piglove Brewery. The ultra includes no less than five water stations, four of which provide snacks. The half includes no less than two water stations with snacks. Spot prizes will be offered by sponsors.

Depending on weather, some kit may be made mandatory, though this is unlikely. No mandatory kit is required for the half. Parking is available at CitiPark Leeds Dock, Armouries Drive LS10 1LE. Rodley Rock up n' Run is a pop up summer event on 14 May 2026 with 5 km and 10 km races behind the Rodley Barge Pub. Entry can be paid online or on the day; runners receive a jumble medal and a soft drink.

Skipton Skedaddle is a trail event from Skipton with distances from 14 to 52.4 miles, visiting Malham Tarn and Gordale Scar. Ultramarathon entrants receive trackers and checkpoints offer food with vegan and gluten free options.

A 5.2 mile fell race with about 1,200 ft of ascent from Appletreewick to Simons Seat and back. Entry costs £10 and includes a drink to be taken at the finish; the event is for over 18s.

A community multi-terrain 10 km trail run in Cookridge, Leeds on Sunday 17 May 2026. The single lap route passes Paul’s Pond and Golden Acre Park, includes a grass hill and woodland sections, and all participants receive a CC10K t-shirt.
