AIRE Ultra Trail and Super Trail Half

The event is based at Piglove By The River in Leeds, located within Citu's Climate Innovation District. The route runs along public footpaths and riverside trails and passes parallel to St Aiden's Nature Reserve and visits Fairburn Ings Nature Reserve.

Distances

  • Ultra Trail: approx 43-45 km / 27-28 miles
  • Trail Half: approx 22 km / 14 miles

The course is described as fairly fast and flat with generally good footpath conditions. There are a couple of small bridges with steps. The route will be signposted with pink arrows and marked with pink tape where possible.

Navigation is the responsibility of runners. Marshals are present only at aid stations and the race is not fully marshalled. Organisers advise carrying GPX files on a watch or phone because signage cannot be guaranteed in all conditions. Much of the route follows waterways.

Facilities at Race HQ include toilets and bag storage. All finishers receive a locally made medal and a pint from Piglove Brewery. The Ultra has no less than five water stations, four of which include snacks. The Super Trail Half has no less than two water stations with snacks. Spot prizes are provided by sponsors.

Mandatory kit may be required in extreme weather; no mandatory kit is listed for the half distance. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
