She Strides Metric Marathon

The She Strides Metric Marathon is a trail race covering a total distance of 26 km. The event starts and finishes in the centre of Hebden Bridge, offering a route that serves as a bridge between half-marathon and full marathon distances. The course is an out-and-back layout that takes participants through various terrains and local landmarks.

The route begins with a steep uphill climb to reach the trail. Once on the moor, the path flattens out as it passes Stoodley Pike and several reservoirs. The terrain includes sandy and rocky trails as well as sections of stone slabs. Runners reach the turnaround point at the White House pub car park before returning along the same path. The final segment of the race consists of a downhill descent back into the town centre.

The course is marked with flags and supported by marshals and a tail runner. A hydration station is located at the halfway turnaround point, providing water and squash.
