Golden Acre Relay 2026

The Golden Acre Relay 2026 takes place on Tuesday 14 July 2026 at Golden Acre Park in Leeds. The event is organised by Abbey Runners and is based at the park near Arthington Road car park.

Teams of three runners each complete a lap of approximately 2.75 miles, for a total of three laps per team. The course is a trail route with an undulating profile and is run as three laps. The event will be licensed by the Trail Running Association and run under UK Athletics rules; a TRA permit is pending.

Entry is restricted to UKA affiliated club members. Categories and entry prices are: Male Open £16, Female Open £16, Male Vets (all three runners 35+) £16, Female Vets (all three runners 35+) £16, Mixed (at least one male and one female) £16, Junior Boys (all three in School Years 8 to 12) £12, Junior Girls (all three in School Years 8 to 12) £12. Entry was limited to 150 teams and places are full.

Facilities at the event include park toilets, which are a five to ten minute walk or jog from race registration. There is no event water provision, no distance markers, no changing facilities, no showers and no baggage storage. The course is not suitable for wheelchairs. Trail races along Leeds waterways with two distances, waymarking, aid stations and a finisher medal plus a pint at Piglove By The River.

A rugged 28.5 km fell race from Cartworth Moor Cricket Club across Pennine moorland, requiring navigation, mandatory kit and FRA safety compliance.

Evening 5km and 10km races from Piglove By The River in Leeds, running along riverside trails and the Trans Pennine Trail, with toilets, bag storage and a post-race drink from Piglove Brewery. Entry limited to 150, minimum age 18.

The Lee Mill Fell Race opens the Mid-Week Series in Stubbylee Park, Bacup on 29 July 2026. The 10.7 km course features moorland climbs, a fast descent past Cowm Reservoir and a return through Lee Mill Quarry.
