The Holme Moss Fell Race is a challenging 28.5 km (17.8 miles) fell running event with 1,315 meters (4,215 feet) of ascent, held near Holmfirth at Cartworth Moor Cricket Club. The course features sections of the Pennine Way and extensive moorland terrain, including steep climbs and descents, making it suitable only for experienced fell runners with strong navigation skills. The race starts about half a mile from registration and finishes back at the club. There are several drink stations along the route, and safety cover is provided by Holme Valley Mountain Rescue.
