The Bamford Carnival Fell Race is a traditional summer running event held in the Peak District, starting and finishing at Bamford Recreation Ground in Derbyshire. The race covers a challenging 7.2 km (4.5 miles) circular route with 320 meters of ascent, taking runners from the recreation ground to the summit of Win Hill and back. The course is well-marked and mostly on footpaths, featuring a steep, twisty descent through gorse bushes and avoiding bottlenecks after the initial field dash. Suitable for both novice and experienced fell runners aged 16 and over, the race attracts over 200 participants and offers a friendly, community atmosphere with refreshments available before and after the event.
