Longshaw Sheepdog Trials
Sheffield, United Kingdom • 30 Aug 2025
Longshaw Sheepdog Trials Fell Race takes place at Longshaw Lodge in the Peak District, running with the world’s oldest sheepdog trials. The fixed anti-clockwise route starts from the Trials field at Longshaw Lodge and covers 8.6 km (5.3 miles) with about 320 m (1,050 ft) of climb, using paths, trods and open fields near the start/finish. The course is rugged and potentially boggy, with marshals at key sections and taped areas to aid navigation. Runners compete under FRA rules and must carry the prescribed kit; fell or trail shoes are required. Entry includes access to the sheepdog trials, plus a beer tent, hot food, and sometimes a flyover.
