Longshaw Sheepdog Trials Fell Race

The Longshaw Sheepdog Trials Fell Race is scheduled for Saturday 5 September 2026 on the Longshaw estate in the Peak District. The 2026 event uses a revised route that remains on the estate and tours parts of the Longshaw Estate and Grindleford Valley with fewer road crossings. The course is approximately 7.1 km (4.4 miles) with about 236 m of ascent. The route includes some steep ascents and tricky descents.

The race is linked to the Longshaw Sheepdog Trials. Entry to the fell race includes free admission to the sheepdog trials; non runners who wish to attend the trials must pay for trials entry. The trials event typically offers a beer tent, hot food, and grandstand seating for the dog trials and has occasionally included a spitfire flyover.

Pre entry is required; entry on the day is not available. Numbers are capped at around 200 runners. A permit and associated insurance are in place and the race is run under the rules of the Fell Runners Association. The National Trust assisted with access and conservation arrangements on the estate.

Previous results and course files including maps and GPX downloads are available from the event organiser. Entries were stated to open on 1 May. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
