The Denby Dash is a village trail race organised by the Denby Village Conservation Group in Upper Denby, Huddersfield. The senior event covers a 5.6 mile course on footpaths through fields, woodland, conservation land and the historic Quaker village at High Flatts. The route is undulating with a total ascent of 700 ft, and it is described as well marked and marshalled.
Entry is limited to 175 places and the senior entry fee is £10. Minimum age for the senior race is 16 years. Entries close on 29 August and there are no entries on the day. Transfers are accepted up to the closing date. The event donates funds to support the work of the Denby Village Conservation Group.
Facilities at Race HQ, The George Inn, include toilets and water. Free parking is provided at Pinfold depot, a short walk from the inn. There are no showers, no changing facilities and no baggage storage listed.
The event includes prizes for all age categories, an award for best fancy dress, and a trophy for the first local man and woman home. Homemade flapjack is provided for all finishers.
