Calderdale Crawl

The Calderdale Crawl is a 24-mile walk or run taking place on Saturday 1 August 2026. The event starts and finishes at Heath Rugby Union Football Club near Halifax (North Dean, Stainland Road, HX4 8LS). The route follows footpaths through woods, tracks and fields, with a short stretch alongside the River Calder and a canal. A midway indoor checkpoint is at Ripponden and other checkpoints are outdoors. A route description and GPX file will be made available before the event. All finishers receive a certificate and a memento.

Practical information

Refreshments are provided at the start, at points en route and a meal is available at the finish. Participants are asked to bring their own mug to reduce waste. Free car parking is available on site. Participants are given 10 hours to complete the route.

Entries open 1 January 2026 and close 19 July 2026. Entry fees are £14 for LDWA members and £19 for non-members. LDWA membership is advertised from £15 per year. Any person under 18 must be accompanied by an appropriate adult, parent or guardian. Dogs are allowed if under full control; dogs may not be allowed inside the rugby club and there is an LDWA requirement regarding liability insurance for dogs.
