Hip Hip Hooray it's Hornsea

Hip Hip Hooray it's Hornsea is a trail running event at Hornsea in East Yorkshire that uses an out and back route along the Trans Pennine Trail. The course is generally flat and runs on good trail surfaces, with marshals and signage on the route.

Distances offered include:

  • 5k
  • 10k
  • 10 miles
  • Half Marathon
  • 20 miles
  • Marathon (two half marathon laps)

Feed and drink stations are placed approximately every three miles and the event operates a cupless approach, so runners are asked to bring a reusable cup or bottle. Toilets are available at the leisure centre near the start area. The races are licenced by the Trail Running Association.

Practical notes recorded for the event include registration opening at 8am and an advisory to allow around one hour for parking, registration and use of facilities. Parking is available nearby but council charges may apply. Transfers or deferrals can be self-served via the organiser's booking channels. The organiser requests that large over ear headphones are not used; bone conduction earphones or single in ear pieces are suggested if audio is needed. There may be some road crossings that are not marshalled.

Finishers are offered a bespoke medal and a range of postrace treats. The setting provides a seaside finish area and food options on the seafront. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
