Hip Hip Hooray it's Hornsea

Hip Hip Hooray it's Hornsea is a seaside trail running event in Hornsea, East Yorkshire. The course is an out and back route along the Trans Pennine Trail and is described as generally flat with good trail surfaces.

Distances offered include:

  • 10 km
  • 10 miles
  • 20 miles
  • Half marathon
  • Marathon (two half-marathon laps)

Feed and drink stations are placed about every three miles and the course is marshalled and signed. The event aims to be cup-less; runners are asked to bring a reusable cup or bottle. Organisers also request that large over-ear headphones are not used; bone-conducting or single-ear in-ear sets are suggested if audio is needed. There may be unmarshalled road crossings on the route.

Facilities and logistics include toilets at the Leisure Centre and nearby parking where council charges may apply. Registration opens from 8am and participants are advised to allow about one hour to park, register and use facilities. Transfers and deferrals can be managed online before the event. Finishers receive a bespoke medal and a selection of post-race treats. The finish area is by the seafront where cafes and takeaway options are available.
