Trail Running by the Sea

Hip Hip Hooray It's Hornsea is a multi-distance trail running event located on the coast of East Yorkshire. The races take place on an out and back route along the scenic Trans Pennine Trail. Participants follow a flat course primarily on disused railway lines, which provides a solid running surface.

The event offers a wide variety of distances to accommodate different goals:

  • 5k
  • 10k
  • 10 Miler
  • Half Marathon
  • 20 Miler
  • Marathon

The course is marshalled and signed throughout the route. To ensure runner safety, participants are asked not to wear large over-ear headphones, as there may be unmarshalled road crossings. Bone conducting earphones or "one in one out" earpieces are permitted.

This is a cup-less event, meaning runners should bring their own reusable bottles or cups. Feed and drink stations are positioned approximately every 3 miles along the route, offering water and a range of food. On-site facilities include toilets at the nearby leisure centre and local council parking. All finishers receive a bespoke medal and a selection of treats at the finish line by the beach.
