Yorkshireman Off Road Marathon & Half Marathon
The Yorkshireman is an annual off road running event offering a full marathon and a half marathon on the same day. The course crosses open moorland, trails, and woods and is waymarked; competitors are recommended to reccy the route and must carry a relevant map. Fell Runners Association mandatory minimum kit applies.
Both races include staffed feed stations and refreshments. The marathon has five well stocked feed stations with a varied selection including port and cheese, fruit cake and salted potatoes. Hot drinks are available before the races and hot food and refreshments are provided at the finish. Live timing and results are provided by SPORTident.
Entries information and race policies are published in advance. Pairs entries are accepted in the full marathon with male, female and mixed categories and prizes. Ten free places are available for active members of UK mountain or fell rescue teams. Event clothing options for 2026 include short and long sleeved race T shirts, a hoodie and a zipped hoodie.
The organiser operates a waiting list when races are full and permits free deferrals to the next year if requested before 31/07/2026. Free name substitutions are allowed up to 15/08/2026 and race swaps between half and full are possible until that date. The event is volunteer run and proceeds support charity and good causes.
