Exterminator Fell Race

The Exterminator is a long fell race held in the Peak District on 6 September 2026. The course starts and finishes at the Totley AC pavilion near the Cricket Inn in Totley, Sheffield (postcode S17 3AZ), and forms the final event in the Totley AC race series. The route is approximately 27 km (about 17 miles) with around 1,066 metres of ascent and includes varied terrain: road, track, footpath, woodland, fields and open moorland.

The race is run under FRA category B long rules and carries a permit with UK Athletics insurance. FRA best practice kit is mandatory and subject to inspection; required items include a waterproof whole body cover with taped seams and attached hood, hat, gloves, map, compass, whistle and emergency food. Use of GPX for navigation is prohibited and mandatory kit checks may be carried out before and after the race. The route is not fully marked and is only partially marshalled, so self-navigation and map reading are essential.

There are multiple checkpoints along the course; two checkpoints require a visible clip or punch and failure to visit and record these will result in disqualification. Two water stations are provided but competitors should carry their own water and a cup or bottle. Limited parking and changing facilities with showers and toilets are available at the pavilion. Entry is offered both in advance and on the day and the event is restricted to adults aged 18 and over. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
