Exterminator Fell Race : Totley AC

The Exterminator is a fell race held on 6 September 2026 from Totley Pavilion, Lane Head Road, Sheffield (postcode S17 3AZ). The course is approximately 27 km / 17 miles with about 1,066 m of ascent and is classified as an FRA category B Long (BL) race.

The route is varied and partly marshalled, running over road, track and footpath through woodland, fields, open moorland, villages and hamlets. The course includes several route choices and is not fully marked, so self navigation and map reading are required. Competitors must visit all checkpoints in the prescribed order; two checkpoints require clipping or punching of race numbers and all numbers will be checked at the finish. Six road crossings occur on the route; only some are marshalled and competitors remain responsible for their own safety.

FRA Best Practice mandatory kit must be carried by all runners and will be checked. Required items include a waterproof whole body cover with attached hood, hat, gloves, a physical map, compass, whistle and emergency food. Use of GPX for navigation is prohibited and may lead to disqualification.

Entries are available online until 02/09/2026 and there is limited on the day entry. Entry fees are £12 online pre entry and £13 on the day cash only. Two water stations are provided but no single use cups are supplied, so competitors should carry their own bottle. Limited parking and basic changing and shower facilities are available at the pavilion. Prizes are awarded for top finishers, team and age categories.
