Exterminator Fell Race

Event overview

The Exterminator is a fell race held on 6 September 2026. It is run as the final race in the Totley AC race series and is classified as an FRA category B Long (BL) fell race. The course is roughly 27 km with about 1,066 m of ascent. The route crosses varied terrain including road, track, footpath, woodland, fields and open moorland, and is partially marshalled with several checkpoints. There are two water stations on the course. The race starts and finishes at Totley AC Pavilion, Penny Lane, Sheffield (postcode S17 3AZ). The minimum age for entry is 18.

Entries, kit and facilities

Pre-entry and entry on the day are available; the event has an entry limit of 250. FRA best practice kit is mandatory and will be checked - required items include a waterproof whole body cover (with taped seams and attached hood), hat, gloves, map, compass, whistle and emergency food. Use of GPX for navigation is prohibited and may lead to disqualification. Two checkpoints on the course require a visible clip or punch of the race number; failure to record these checkpoints will result in disqualification. Limited parking is available and the 97 bus to Totley stops within a short walk of the start. Toilets and limited showers and changing facilities are provided at the pavilion.
