Eccles Pike Fell Race 2026

The Eccles Pike Fell Race takes place on Wednesday 12 August 2026 with Buxworth Memorial Club serving as Race HQ close to the course start and finish. The event is one of the oldest fell races in the country, with a history extending over 100 years.

The course distance is 3.4 miles (5.5 km) and includes approximately 901 ft (275 m) of climb. Numbers are collected on the day. The race is regularly popular and often sells out, so entries on the day are unlikely.

Parking arrangements vary. Parking at the Navigation Inn may require payment; the pub is currently closed, the ANPR camera has been removed but a payment machine remains. Organisers ask that competitors do not park at the far end of the Navigation Inn car park where they could block the race route. A large car park is available at Tesco about 1 km away on the canal. Additional parking details will be provided in the race brief email distributed a few days before the event.

Entry fees are shown at £10.00 with a £1.00 discount for FRA members. Refunds are issued only at the race organiser’s discretion and booking fees charged by third parties are non refundable. The organiser reserves the right to amend or cancel the event; if a rescheduled date is used, entries will be transferred to that date. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
