Eccles Pike Fell Race 2026

Eccles Pike Fell Race takes place on 12 August 2026 and is organised by Goyt Valley Striders. The event is one of the oldest fell races in the country with a history going back over 100 years.

The course covers 3.4 miles (5.5 km) with 901 ft (275 m) of climb. Race HQ is at Buxworth Memorial Club, which is close to the start and finish. Numbers are collected on the day.

Parking is available locally. Parking at the Navigation Inn may require payment, the pub is currently closed and the automatic payment camera has been removed though the payment machine remains. Participants are asked not to park at the far end of that car park where the race route may be blocked. A larger car park at Tesco is about 1 km away on the canal. Additional parking will be available on the day and a race brief will be issued a few days beforehand with details.

Entry is available for people aged 16 to 89 on the race date. The standard entry fee is £10 with a £1 discount for Fell Runners Association members. Entries often sell out and day-of entries may not be available. Refunds are issued only at the organiser’s discretion, booking fees are not refundable, and transfers or deferrals are normally permitted up to 48 hours before the event.

Participants must accept the Fell Runners Association requirements, acknowledge the hazards of fell running, and consent to publication of name, club, category, number, finishing time and position in results. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
