Cordwell Colossus is a summer trail run in North Derbyshire on 8 August 2026. The event is based at Holmesfield Village Hall, Holmesfield, Dronfield S18 7WZ. It is organised by First Light Adventure and is open to adults aged 18 or older.

Course and logistics

The route is a clockwise/anticlockwise loop that crosses the Cordwell and Linacre Valleys and is just over 20 miles long with 840 m of ascent. Terrain includes farmland, woodland, lanes, runnable trails and sections of single track and trods. The route is marked on less obvious sections and GPX files and route notes are made available; basic navigation skills are recommended. There are two well-stocked checkpoints on course with sweet and savoury options and further refreshments at the village hall for finishers. The event is open to runners and fast walkers who can meet the 6-hour cut-off time. All finishers receive a Cordwell Colossus medal. Prizes are awarded to the first male and first female finishers.
