Cordwell Colossus
The Cordwell Colossus is a summer trail run located in North East Derbyshire, situated near the eastern edge of the Peak District. The course follows a loop that covers just over 20 miles of undulating terrain. Participants travel across countryside paths, trails, and woodlands within the Cordwell and Linacre Valleys.
The route consists of varied underfoot conditions, ranging from highly runnable lanes and trails to technical single tracks and trods. This event is largely unmarked, although specific sections that require more complex navigation are marked by the organizers. To assist with navigation, participants are provided with gpx files and route notes. The use of a personal paper map is also suggested as a backup.

The course includes two checkpoints where water and a variety of sweet and savoury food are available. These are located at Wigley (7.5 miles) and The Peacock at Cutthorpe (13.5 miles). There is a total time limit of 6 hours to complete the course.
Based at Holmesfield Village Hall in Dronfield, the event provides free car parking for participants. Facilities include medic cover at the race headquarters and out on the course. All finishers receive a medal, and light refreshments are provided at the conclusion of the run. Prizes are awarded to the first male and female finishers.
