The Cordwell Colossus
Holmesfield, United Kingdom • 9 Aug 2025
The Cordwell Colossus is a challenging 20-mile trail run held in North East Derbyshire, near the eastern edge of the Peak District. Starting and finishing at Holmesfield Village Hall, the course loops anticlockwise through the scenic Cordwell and Linacre Valleys, featuring undulating countryside paths, woodland trails, and farmland with 840-950m of ascent. Runners and fast walkers have a 6-hour cut-off to complete the route, which offers a mix of runnable trails and more technical single tracks.
The event includes two well-stocked checkpoints and refreshments at the finish. All finishers receive a commemorative medal, with prizes for the first male and female runners. Parking is free at the village hall. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
