The Cordwell Colossus
Holmesfield, United Kingdom • 9 Aug 2025
The Cordwell Colossus is a challenging 20-mile summer trail run held in North Derbyshire, near the eastern edge of the Peak District. The route features 840 meters of ascent and loops through the scenic Cordwell Valley, with a brief detour into the neighboring Linacre Valley. Starting from Holmesfield Village Hall, runners navigate an anticlockwise course over hilly farmland, woodlands, and rural trails, offering a mix of runnable paths and more technical single tracks. The event includes two well-stocked checkpoints and refreshments at the finish. Participants who complete the course within six hours receive a commemorative medal, with prizes awarded to the first male and female finishers.
