Event overview

The Cordwell Colossus is a summer trail run held on Saturday 8 August 2026, organised by First Light Adventure. The route is a loop of just over 20 miles around the Cordwell and Linacre Valleys near the eastern edge of the Peak District, based at Holmesfield Village Hall, Dronfield (S18 7WZ). The event is open to runners and fast walkers aged 18 or older who can complete the course within a 6-hour time limit. All finishers receive a Cordwell Colossus medal. Prizes are awarded to the first male and first female finishers.

Course and logistics

The course runs anticlockwise over hilly farmland, woodland and rural trails. Surface conditions range from highly runnable trails and lanes to more technical single track and trods. The route is marked on less obvious sections and a GPX file and route notes are available on the race webpage; basic navigation skills are recommended. There are two well stocked checkpoints on the route with sweet and savoury items and further refreshments for finishers at the village hall. Car parking is free for participants in the village hall car park. Entry fees are listed as £30 for UKA members and £32 for non-members.
