Course and logistics

The route climbs steadily through fields, then includes a short steep section through heather to a cairn, continues along the summit to a trig point and then returns downhill, often directly over the edge. Car parking is usually in a field accessed via a farm track opposite the main village car park. Parking cost is £3 per car. Entry and categories

Entry on the day is available for seniors at a fee of £5. Pre-entry is not available. Junior races are held with category entry of £2. Junior categories include Under 9, Under 12, Under 14 and Under 17. Minimum age for junior entry on race day is 6. Senior minimum age is 17, with age categories determined by age on 1 May.
