Leeds Country Way In A Day 100 km

The Leeds Country Way In a Day is a 100 km circuit around the city of Leeds that follows the local LCW footpaths and visits neighbouring towns, villages, parks and nature reserves. The route remains within about seven miles of Leeds City Square while passing through mainly rural areas with open views to West and North Yorkshire.

The surface is approximately 80% trail and 20% road or tarmac, and weather can change underfoot conditions. The route uses public rights of way including footpaths, bridleways and minor lanes, with a few short sections on roads. The way is already waymarked with the Owl symbol and all competitors receive a GPX file; competitors are responsible for navigation and should use the GPX as a backup to the markers.

Checkpoints are located at Wike Lane (21 km), Garforth (43 km), CP3 (around 62 km), Woodkirk (77 km) and Pudsey (89 km). There are cut offs at checkpoints. Food and water are provided at checkpoints, and a finishers medal is included. Runners may leave a small returnable drop bag at the halfway checkpoint. Toilets are available at the start and finish and there may be public facilities in towns and villages on the route.

Mandatory kit includes a phone or watch with the GPX map, a headtorch, waterproof jacket, warm hat or wrap and capacity for one litre of water. Pacers and crew are allowed, with rules on equipment carriage and local courtesy. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
