The route stays within about 7 miles of Leeds City Square and passes through neighbouring towns, villages, parks and nature reserves. The course is roughly 80% trail and 20% road or tarmac; weather can change underfoot conditions significantly. The event HQ for 2026 is to be confirmed. The next scheduled running of the event is on 12 September 2026. Entry fees start at £25.

Route, support and requirements

The route is waymarked and organisers will provide a GPX file; competitors are responsible for navigating and are advised to use the GPX as backup to the markers. There are six checkpoints along the course, with one major aid station around the halfway point. Food and drink at checkpoints will include water and items such as bananas, sweets, crisps and cake bars. Competitors may leave a small returnable drop bag at the halfway checkpoint and non-returnable drop bags at two other checkpoints. Toilets will be available at the start and finish and there may be public facilities in towns and villages on route.

Mandatory kit includes a phone or watch with the GPX map, a headtorch, a waterproof jacket, a warm hat or wrap and capacity for 1 litre of water. Recommended items include a paper map, spare batteries or power bank and a spare warm layer. Pacers and crew are allowed; pacers must not carry any mandatory equipment for the entrant. Registration opens two hours before the race. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
