Eshton Moor (formerly Gargrave Cross Country)

Eshton Moor is a club race held on Thursday 6 August 2026 around Gargrave in North Yorkshire. The advertised senior course is 5 Mile with approximately 550 ft of ascent. The route is an out and back along the line of the Pennine Way to woods near Calton and runs across undulating fields.

The course begins with a long gentle climb up a field before joining the Pennine Way. It continues over Eshton Moor, descends and crosses the river, then runs around the wood before returning along the same line and climbing back over Eshton Moor. The event includes multiple race categories for juniors and seniors, with junior categories listed as U9, U12, U14 and U17. Entry fees are stated as £2 for juniors and £5 for seniors. There are a number of perpetual trophies presented at this race to members of Wharfedale Harriers.

The event base is Old Hall Farm, Gargrave BD23 3UT. Approaching Gargrave from Skipton, competitors are directed past the Old Swan pub and along Mark House Lane; parking is available on the road or in a nearby field accessed via a farm track close to the start. Tackle the Coppice fell race in Accrington on Tue 9 Jun 2026, a spirited 6.6 km course with 310 m of climb starting from the Whitakers Arms. Day entry only means it is ideal for last minute plans and teams are welcome.

A scenic out and back trail from Otley to Pateley Bridge on the Six Dales Trail, offered over 13, 20 and 32 mile distances with checkpoints, trackers and mandatory kit requirements.

A 24 mile fell run and challenge walk through Swaledale on 13 June 2026, organised by Swaledale Outdoor Club. Competitors must navigate the route themselves and finish within 10 hours; minimum age 14.

A charity 5K colour run in Silsden supporting Sue Ryder Manorlands Hospice, run over three laps with seven paint stations, obstacles and a finishers' medal. The event includes music, food and a bar after the race.
