Eshton Moor (formerly Gargrave Cross Country)

Eshton Moor is a cross-country race organised by Wharfedale Harriers on 6 August 2026. The advertised distance is 5 Mile with approximately 550 ft of ascent. The route is an out-and-back over undulating fields along the line of the Pennine Way and passes close to the woods near Calton.

The course begins with a gentle climb up a long field before joining the Pennine Way. It follows the path across Eshton Moor, descends and crosses a river, then runs around a wood before returning the same way, including a climb back over Eshton Moor. The terrain is rural and includes fields, moorland path and a river crossing.

Racing categories listed include under-9, under-12, under-14, under-17 and senior races. Entry fees are shown as £2 for juniors and £5 for seniors.
