Eshton Moor (formerly Gargrave Cross Country)

Eshton Moor is a five mile cross-country race held on 6 August 2026 at Old Hall Farm, Gargrave, North Yorkshire (BD23 3UT). The course covers approximately 5 Mile with about 550 ft of ascent and follows an out and back route along the track of the Pennine Way to woods near Calton.

The route begins with a long gentle climb up a field before joining the Pennine Way. It continues over Eshton Moor, descends and crosses the river, then runs around a wood before returning the same way and climbing back over Eshton Moor. The surface is over undulating fields and paths.

Age categories include under 9, under 12, under 14, under 17 and seniors. Entry fees are listed as £2 for juniors and £5 for seniors. A number of perpetual trophies are presented at this race to members of Wharfedale Harriers.

The event uses Old Hall Farm as the start area. Approaches from Skipton are described via the Old Swan Pub and Mark House Lane; parking is available on the road or by turning into a farm track and using the field on the left where the race starts. Skipton Skedaddle is a trail event from Skipton with distances from 14 to 52.4 miles, visiting Malham Tarn and Gordale Scar. Ultramarathon entrants receive trackers and checkpoints offer food with vegan and gluten free options.

A fell race from the Showfield in Sedbergh up Winder with a steep ascent and descent. The event includes a senior 3.5 km course with 340 m climb and four junior distances and counts for the BOFRA championship.

A 5.2 mile fell race with about 1,200 ft of ascent from Appletreewick to Simons Seat and back. Entry costs £10 and includes a drink to be taken at the finish; the event is for over 18s.

The Holcombe 10 offers *10K* and *10 Mile* trail routes across Holcombe Moor, passing Peel Tower and Redisher Woods. Water stations are at Peel Tower and the National Trust ranger base and proceeds support The Sunnywood Project.
