Eshton Moor (formerly Gargrave Cross Country)
Eshton Moor is a five mile cross-country race with approximately 550 ft of ascent, run on an out and back course that follows the track of the Pennine Way to woods near Calton. The route crosses undulating fields, begins with a long gentle climb up a field before joining the Pennine Way, then continues over Eshton Moor, down to and across a river, around a wood and returns the same way with a climb back over the moor.
The event includes age categories for U9, U12, U14, U17 and Seniors. Entry fees are listed as Juniors £2 and Seniors £5. Perpetual trophies are presented at the race to members of Wharfedale Harriers. Course records are shown as Mens 31.05 (2018) and Ladies 35.44 (2023).
The race base is at Old Hall Farm, Gargrave, North Yorkshire BD23 3UT. Parking is available on the road or by turning into the farm track and using the field on the left where the race starts.
