Trail Running in the North York Moors
SilverBackTrails Lilla’s Revenge is a 10-mile trail running event held in the North York Moors National Park. The course follows a portion of the Lykewake Walk long-distance footpath, leading participants through historic terrain. Runners visit Lilla Howe, the site of the 7th-century Lilla Cross, and Louven Howe, a Neolithic/Bronze Age burial site. The route includes a long run down to Jugger Beck followed by a climb onto Jugger Moor, offering views of the Whitby coast, Ravenscar, Scarborough Castle, and Blakey Ridge.
The event contains a variety of terrain and requires runners to be self-sufficient for the duration. There is a time limit of 3 hours for the course. While some flags and marshals are present to assist with navigation, participants are expected to navigate themselves using a map and compass.
