Trail races from Grizedale Visitor Centre in the Lake District on varied, undulating forest tracks. Options include a 13-mile half and a 26-mile marathon with an eastern loop toward Windermere, compulsory kit and timed cut offs apply.

Two marked off-road courses at Whinlatter on 7 February 2027, offering a 10k and a 5K with significant ascent. Chip timed with GPX files available, individual starts, and two dogs permitted per runner.

March 2027

A fully tracked 30 mile trail ultra in Cumbria with 3000 ft of ascent around the Eden Valley and edge of the Yorkshire Dales. Four checkpoints supply water and snacks and walkers are welcome with a 12 hour cut off.

Experience a classic 15 km fell race through the South West Pennines. Starting from Barley Village Hall, this event features 545 meters of ascent and requires navigation skills for all participants.

Trail runs at Culzean Castle on 7 March 2027 offer 5km, 10km and half marathon options across a 642 acre estate. Live chip timing is provided, canicross is allowed and finishers receive a medal, merchandise and refreshments.

Trail runs of 10 km and 20 km take place at Beacon Fell Country Park on 7 March 2027 with chip timing and medals for finishers. Pre registration is required and there is a three hour cut off time.

A new half marathon at Grizedale Forest on 7 March 2027, run on marked, chip timed forest trails with views over Coniston Water. Runners may bring up to two dogs and a 12k option is also available.

April 2027

A 100 km ultramarathon across the Lake District following Wainwright's Coast to Coast route. It starts at St Bees on the west coast and finishes at Shap, open to entrants aged 18+ with an entry fee of £170.

A 26 miles anti clockwise loop around Allendale, Northumberland, organised by North of Tyne Mountain Rescue Team to raise funds. The route crosses Hard Rigg, Black Hill and Kilhope Law and returns via Spartylea, The Drag and Ladlewell.

A 300km self supported ultra race following Wainwright's Coast to Coast route from St Bees to Robin Hood's Bay. Entries open 1 June 2026; minimum age 18 and a total entry fee of £999 with a non refundable deposit.

A 55 km ultra following Wainwright's coast to coast route from Kirkby Stephen to Richmond, passing the Nine Standards and Swaledale. The event emphasizes adventure and self sufficiency and has a minimum age of 18.

Trail running in quieter parts of Whinlatter forest on 4 April 2027 with two marked, chip timed routes. Dogs are allowed on suitable harnesses and GPX files are available.

Marked and marshalled trail runs of 10 km and 16 km from Hawkshead Recreation Ground offer Lake District views and the steep Coffin Trail climb. Water stations are provided but participants should bring a reusable cup.

Trail running event in the Lake District on 10 April 2027 offering 53k and 23k routes around Derwent Water and Catbells. The race is TRA licensed with chip timing, GPX files and live tracking for ultra runners.
