Lakeland Trails at Leighton Hall

The Lakeland Trails event at Leighton Hall takes place on the 14th of March 2026. It is located at Leighton Hall in the Arnside and Silverdale Area of Natural Beauty, with views of Morecambe Bay and the River Kent estuary.

Distances

The event offers two main distances:

  • A 10k trail run
  • A 21k half marathon trail run

The half marathon is split into two contests: a non-competitive 'Challenge' and a competitive 'Race'. Prizes are not awarded in the Challenge contest.

Course and Rules

The 10k course goes through farmland and reedbeds. The half marathon route explores the wider Arnside and Silverdale area. Dogs are not allowed on the course or at the venue for any participants or spectators. There are time limits: 2 hours for the 10k, 4 hours for the half marathon Challenge, and 3 hours for the half marathon Race. Participants must be at least 16 years old for the 10k and 18 for the half marathon. Water stations are provided on the courses, but participants are asked to bring their own reusable cup to be filled.

Logistics

Registration and number collection happens on the day at the venue. Parking is available for a charge, but is free for cars with four or more occupants. The venue is accessible by public bus. A professional photographer will be on the course, with free photos available to download after the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
