Lakeland Paws: Grizedale half marathon

The event takes place at Grizedale Forest on 7 March 2027 and is the first half marathon offering in Season 5 of the Lakeland Paws series. The route mainly follows wide forest pathways and includes some single track sections. The course uses both sides of the forest and provides views over Coniston Water. There is a shorter 12k option that stays on the west side of the forest.

The event has no cut offs. It is chip timed and marked, and GPX files are available for download. Runners may take part with up to two dogs. The minimum age for entry is 16 on the event date. Entry fee is listed at £20.00. Entries open on 27 April 2026 and close on 6 March 2027 at 12:00.

Uphill trial races from Fitz Park to Skiddaw with marked courses for Senior and U20 athletes, mandatory mountain safety kit and pre entry only registration.

A 14 kilometre fell race with 1,065 metres of ascent visiting Wetherlam, Swirl How and the Old Man of Coniston. Navigation is by map and compass only and entrants must have fell running experience.

Marked and marshalled trail races in Staveley across 5k, 10k and half marathon routes that use valleys, fells and mixed underfoot surfaces. The event village includes food stalls, live music and race commentary.

Experience a traditional fell race in the scenic Lake District with the Storth Stampede. This event features a nine kilometer senior course and dedicated junior races for younger athletes looking to test their skills on the hills.
