Lakeland Paws Whinlatter Tails Night Run

This event is the Lakeland Paws series first night run, held on the south side of Whinlatter Forest using the same undulating route as the January course but run after dark. The course is a mix of forest roads and trails and is described as one of the less technical routes. Participants must wear a head torch. Runners may compete with or without dogs; individual starts will be used so dogs have space at the start, and up to two dogs are allowed per runner.

The event is chip timed and the course will be marked. GPX files are available for download. Minimum age to enter is 16 or older. Entry fee is listed as £19. Entries open 25 July 2025 and close 27 February 2026. Entries are managed through SiEntries and require registration or login.

Available distances:

  • 10 km route, 380 m of ascent
  • 5 km route, 200 m of ascent

The shorter route splits from the longer course and is noted as the easier option. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
