Lakes Traverse® 2026 : overview

Lakes Traverse® 2026 is a long-distance ultramarathon held across the Lake District National Park on 28 and 29 March 2026. The event is organised by Ourea Events and covers a single point-to-point route of 100 km. The race starts at St Bees Seafront on the west coast and finishes at Shap.

Route and entry information

The route follows Wainwright's Coast to Coast line and crosses the full width of the Lake District National Park. It traverses Ennerdale and Borrowdale, goes over Grasmere Common, passes Grisedale Tarn, continues through Patterdale, crosses Kidsty Pike and runs along Haweswater to Shap.

Entries open on 9 April 2025 and close on 15 March 2026. Entry fees are tiered: £150 until 20 April 2025, £160 until 26 October 2025, and £170 thereafter until entries close. The minimum age to enter is 18. Entry requires a SiEntries account (login or registration).
