Lakeland Trails in Hawkshead

Lakeland Trails in Hawkshead is a trail running event based at Hawkshead Recreation Ground in Cumbria. Routes follow fully marked and marshalled footpaths and bridleways with panoramic views of Windermere and surrounding Lakeland peaks. Underfoot is mainly scenic trail with short sections of tarmac and some steep, rocky descents.

The event includes a notable mile long climb known as the Coffin Trail which runs through the woods from Belle Grange to Hawkshead. Courses are managed by volunteers with radio communications and Advanced Life Support medics on site. Runners must carry their own water or a reusable cup as the organisers do not supply cups at water stations.
