Blackpool Surf 10K

The event is a coastal 10 km out-and-back run that starts and finishes beside the Mirror Ball on Blackpool South Promenade. The route follows the wide sands of Blackpool Beach and consists mainly of firm sand and hard-packed surface, with some sections that may be softer depending on tides and weather.

Event HQ is located adjacent to the Mirror Ball (South Promenade, FY4 1BB) and provides registration desks and number collection, an information point, toilets, a public address system, and a baggage drop. Race numbers are issued on the morning from Event HQ; participants should bring their email confirmation for number collection and will be given safety pins. Numbers must be worn on the front of the running top and be clearly visible.

There is one water station around the halfway point (5 km) and water will be available at the finish. Medical support is provided by a professional team from RMS Ambulance Services at the start/finish and on the course. The route is fully marshalled and spectators are welcome but should keep clear of the marked course and follow marshal instructions.

Practical details include pre-registration only, minimum age 15 on the day, an entry fee of £25 with a £2 discount for registered EA/ARC club members, optional event T-shirt and a bespoke medal. Ample parking is available at South Beach Car Park (FY4 1BB) and Waterloo Road Car Park (FY4 1AF); normal parking charges apply. In-ear headphones are not permitted; bone-conduction headphones may be used with care. A baggage drop is available at Event HQ and free event photography and chip-timed results will be posted online after the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
