Blackpool Surf 10K

The Blackpool Surf 10 km is a coastal road race held on Blackpool Beach with the start and finish beside the Mirror Ball on South Promenade. Event HQ is adjacent to the Mirror Ball, FY4 1BB, and serves as the hub for number collection, information, toilets, a PA system, and a baggage drop.

The route is an out-and-back along the sands of Blackpool Beach. The surface is a mix of firm sand and hard packed sections, with some areas that can be softer depending on recent tides and weather. The event is scheduled to align with the tides to provide suitable running surfaces. A water station is positioned at approximately the 5 km mark and additional water is available at the finish. Bins are provided on site.

Number collection takes place on the morning of the event at Event HQ; participants should bring their email confirmation and wear their race number on the front of their running top. In-ear headphones are not permitted; bone conduction headphones are allowed where they do not reduce awareness. Trail or hybrid running shoes with good grip are recommended.

Medical cover is provided by a professional team from RMS Ambulance Services, with support at the start and finish and on course. The route is fully marshalled. Running buggies and dogs are not permitted. Entry is by pre registration only, minimum age on the day is 15, entry fee for 10k is £25 with a £2 discount for registered EA or ARC club members. Live results are posted online shortly after the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
