Castle to Castle Ultra 36

The Castle to Castle Ultra 36 is an endurance running event held on Saturday 18 July 2026. The course covers 36 miles from Clitheroe Castle to Lancaster Castle. The route is largely on trail but passes through some urban areas and includes road crossings where roads remain open.

Entry is by pre registration only. Entry fee is £65 and entries close on Sunday 12 July 2026. Competitors must be 18 years old or over on the day of the event. Deferrals are possible up to one week before the event for a fee of £10; no refunds are available.

Safety measures include a maximum completion time of 10 hours and six checkpoints along the route. All checkpoints provide water and cordial and four checkpoints offer a selection of supplementary snacks. The event uses chip timing, live tracking and a fully marked route. Finishers receive a hoodie and a medal.

Mandatory kit includes a waterproof coat or running jacket with sealed seams, a long sleeved base layer, a water bottle or bladder with at least one litre capacity, a fully charged mobile phone, a foil blanket and a whistle. Participants are responsible for their own safety and medical expenses and accept the event terms and conditions, including the organisers right to amend or cancel the event for health and safety reasons. Skipton Skedaddle is a trail event from Skipton with distances from 14 to 52.4 miles, visiting Malham Tarn and Gordale Scar. Ultramarathon entrants receive trackers and checkpoints offer food with vegan and gluten free options.

A 5.2 mile fell race with about 1,200 ft of ascent from Appletreewick to Simons Seat and back. Entry costs £10 and includes a drink to be taken at the finish; the event is for over 18s.

The Holcombe 10 offers *10K* and *10 Mile* trail routes across Holcombe Moor, passing Peel Tower and Redisher Woods. Water stations are at Peel Tower and the National Trust ranger base and proceeds support The Sunnywood Project.

Join the Calderdale Way Relay on Sun 17 May 2026 for a scenic but savage 80.5 km team challenge across the South West Pennines with 3660 m of climb. Teams of 12, pre entry only, runners run in pairs and strict kit rules apply.
