The Ingleborough Mountain Race is a classic fell running event held annually in Ingleton, Yorkshire Dales, as part of the village's Gala day. The race covers approximately 11 km (6.8 miles) with a challenging ascent of 600 meters (1968 feet) to the summit of Ingleborough. Starting and finishing at the Ingleton Community Centre, the course follows a public footpath up the mountain and back, allowing runners to familiarize themselves with the route beforehand. The event has a rich history dating back to 1939 and offers a vibrant atmosphere with activities on the Gala field for spectators and families.
