Ingleborough Mountain Race in Ingleton

The Ingleborough Mountain Race starts on the sports field beside Ingleton Community Centre and follows the village main street before joining a public footpath up to the summit of Ingleborough (grid ref. 742745). The route returns to the village by the same path and re-enters the field from the Back Gate car park. Because the route follows a public footpath, competitors may walk or inspect the course before the race.

The event is held as part of Ingleton Gala day, so friends and family can use the activities on the Gala Field while waiting for runners to return. Prize giving takes place on the Gala field when circumstances permit.

The race is run under FRA rules. There will be a kit check at registration and runners must carry the mandatory minimum kit: waterproof whole body cover with taped seams and attached hood, overtrousers with taped seams, hat, gloves, map, compass, whistle and emergency food. Runners are strongly advised to carry water. If a competitor retires they must report back to race control at the start or at the Gala field.

Entries are open via SI Entries. Entry fees are shown as FRA members £12 and non-FRA £15, with entry on the day at £15 if the limit has not been reached and cash only applies for on-the-day entry. Registration and number collection take place in Ingleton Community Centre next to the Gala field. Parking is available in a council-run car park next to the centre for a fee and several free car parks are available elsewhere in Ingleton. Toilets are available in the car park. The minimum age is 18 years. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
