Teams are allowed. There are no junior races. The event has a permit and associated UK Athletics insurance from the Fell Runners Association (FRA). This is race #4 in The Yorkshire Dales Classics 2026 series. No dogs are allowed on the sports field.

A 23 mile winter walk and run around the Lyth Valley from Abbot Hall Social Centre in Kendal, passing Cunswick Fell, Whitbarrow Scar and Scout Scar. The event has mandatory winter kit rules and currently operates a waiting list.
