Ingleborough Mountain Race
The Ingleborough Mountain Race starts on the sports field next to Ingleton Community Centre (Grid Ref. 695730), follows the main street and a short road section before turning on to the public footpath up Ingleborough to the summit (Grid Ref. 742745), and returns to the village by the same route. The field is re-entered from the Back Gate car park. As the route follows a public footpath, competitors may walk the course before the race.
The event is run as part of Ingleton’s Gala day and prize giving takes place on the Gala field when circumstances permit. Registration and number collection are in the Ingleton Community Centre adjacent to the Gala field. Toilets are available in the car park.
Course and entry details: distance about 11 km with approximately 600 m of climb (1,968 ft). Minimum age is 18 years. Entries are open via online entry through SI Entries; FRA members and non-FRA entry fees are stated, and limited entry on the day may be possible at the published fee. There is a council-operated car park next to the Community Centre that charges, and several free car parks elsewhere in Ingleton. A number of campsites, a YHA and bed and breakfast accommodation are available nearby.
The race is run under FRA rules. FRA mandatory minimum kit is required and will be checked at registration; items include waterproof whole body cover, hat, gloves, map, compass, whistle and emergency food. Organisers may alter kit requirements on the day according to weather conditions. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
