Liverpool Pretty Muddy 5k - Sefton Park

The Liverpool Pretty Muddy event is a 5 km obstacle course held in Sefton Park, Aigburth Road, Liverpool, L17 1AP. The park covers about 235 acres and features lakes, winding paths and varied green spaces. The course runs on a mixture of gravel paths and grass and includes some undulations; grass sections can become boggy in wet weather.

The start and finish lines are located on the field to the left of the Sefton Park Obelisk. Participants must be 13 years of age or older to take part. A separate Pretty Muddy Kids programme exists for younger children.

Facilities on site include refreshments and toilets. The event is not suitable for wheelchair users and is not suitable for pushchairs. Dogs are not allowed. There are no showers, no bag drop, no cycling racks and no electric vehicle charging points for this event. There is no designated event parking, no drop off zone and no designated Blue Badge parking.

Public transport options noted for the venue include bus services 75, 80 and 80A to Harrington Road which is a short walk from the park, and trains from Liverpool Central to St Michaels which is a longer walk. A minimum fundraising target of £50 applies and published entry prices are £22.49 for adults and £12.00 for children. Trail runs nearby

A running race from the Druid Inn near Llanferres covering 8 km with 366 m of climb. The course is BS partially marked and entry is £4 on the day; parking is limited so car sharing is advised.

Nant Gain is a fell race near Cilcain covering 7.6 km with 370 m of ascent, starting and finishing at the Cilcain Waterworks and registering at The White Horse Pub. Entry is £3 on the night and minimum age is over 16.

Phoenix Blaze in Manchester is the second race of a 2026 Summer Series at Chorlton Water Park. Timed laps on a 5.3 km out-and-back course let participants cover distances from a single lap up to ultra within a seven hour limit.

A chip-timed 5-mile multi-terrain race through Arrowe Park on 12 July 2026, featuring woodland trails, grassy paths and parkland. Water stations, on-site toilets, a finish medal and goody bag are provided.
