Scouts Honour Backyard Ultra

Scouts Honour Backyard Ultra is a trail backyard ultra held at Hollinwood Scout Camp in Worsley, Manchester. The event takes place within a working scout camp and uses two off road loops that run through open fields and shaded woodland.

Runners start a new loop every hour on the hour. To continue, a runner must complete the loop within the hour and then start the next lap. The format continues until a single athlete remains. The field is capped at 100 athletes.

The course is described as flat and fully off road, beginning across field ground and then flowing into shaded woodland trails. Organizers describe the terrain as fast and runnable. The event balances personal challenge and competition; goals may include completing a single lap, pursuing a distance personal best, or continuing through the night.

Prize money is awarded to the overall winner, with an additional reward for athletes who go beyond the 100 mile mark. Entries include an entry ticket and a bespoke DNF metal mug. The winner receives a trophy, a mug and prize money. Facilities and services listed for participants include a pitch for a rest area, parking for one car per athlete with crew, drinks and a snack, and hot and cold water. Visitor parking is available on a first come, first served basis. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
