Scouts Honour Backyard Ultra

The Scouts Honour Backyard Ultra is a trail running event held at Hollinwood Scout Camp in Worsley, Manchester. This competition follows the backyard ultra format within a working scout camp, where participants attempt to complete a specific loop every hour on the hour. The race continues until only one runner remains.

The course is a flat, fully off-road trail. The terrain consists of field ground and shaded woodland trails, providing a fast and runnable environment. Runners complete two distinct off-road loops through these fields and woods. Participation is open to athletes aged 18 and over, and the field is limited to 100 participants to maintain a specific atmosphere.

Participants are provided with several amenities and rewards:

  • A pitch to set up a personal rest area
  • Parking for one car per athlete
  • Drinks, snacks, and access to hot and cold water
  • A bespoke metal DNF mug for those who do not finish
  • A trophy, mug, and prize money for the overall winner

Awards are presented to the final winner, with additional recognition for any runner who completes more than 100 miles. The event focuses on personal endurance goals, such as reaching a new distance personal best or continuing the race into the night. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
