The Alderley Park Trail is a running event located within the grounds of Alderley Park. The race takes place on a 5 mile course consisting of two laps through 400 acres of historic parkland. The route passes through various scenic areas including a rare arboretum, a working farm, lakes, and a water garden.

The event follows a trail path through the countryside terrain. It is licensed by The Trail Runners Association and managed by Run North West. The race headquarters is located at the Glasshouse within Alderley Park, Nether Alderley.

Participants receive several items and services as part of their entry:

  • 5 mile trail race
  • Technical finisher t-shirt
  • Chip timing for results
  • Advanced or on-day race number collection

The competition includes prizes for the top three male and female finishers based on gun times. Additionally, veteran prizes are awarded based on chip times for the first-place finishers in five-year age increments from V35 to V85+, as well as the first Under-20 finishers. A portion of each entry fee is donated to a charity chosen by Alderley Park.

Participants must be at least 16 years old to enter. Entry fees vary between affiliated UKA club runners and non-club runners. A hilly five mile trail and fell race from Rainow on the edge of the Peak District, taking in White Nancy and the Kerridge ridge. The event is pre-entry only, serves teas and cakes after the race, and donates proceeds to local charities.

A summer evening charity run at Marbury Park with a 5k adult race and 1k kids' fun run, plus BBQ, bar, cake stall and music. Proceeds go to The Stroke Association and all finishers receive a medal.

Three circular challenge routes of 26.2, 23 and 18 miles around the Colne Valley near Marsden. Entries are by SIEntries with a 150 person limit and include checkpoints, refreshments and a finish meal.

A self-navigated trail event around Delph, Saddleworth covering about 19 miles with 3000 ft of ascent. The unmarked course visits five trig points, has three manned checkpoints, and requires full kit and a minimum age of 18.
