Event Information

The Alderley Park Trail is a 5-mile trail race held within the grounds of Alderley Park in Macclesfield. The event is licensed by TRA and run under UKA Athletics rules.

Course

The race is a two-lap course starting outside the Glasshouse building. The route passes through woodland, past an impressive lake, and by a working farm within the park's grounds.

Facilities and Services

The event offers chip timing, a commemorative technical finisher's t-shirt for all participants, and a drinks station at the finish. There is free parking at the race headquarters and free baggage storage. First aid and toilets are available. Participants can also download free, high-resolution photos.

Participation

The minimum age for entry is 16 years. Entry fees are £18 for club runners and £20 for non-club runners, which includes the finisher's t-shirt. The event closes entries when it reaches its capacity or at midnight the night before the race. There are no entries available on race day.

Prizes are awarded for the top three male and female finishers, and for veterans in age categories from V35 to V85+ in five-year increments, as well as for the first U20 finisher. All prizes are equal for men and women.

Venue and Travel

The event takes place at Alderley Park (postcode SK10 4TG). Free parking is available on-site, and car sharing is encouraged. The closest train station is Alderley Edge, which is a two-mile walk from the race headquarters. Bike storage is available at the park.

Participants who can no longer attend have the option to transfer their place to another person or to a virtual race option. The organizer does not offer refunds or transfers to other events. In an effort to be eco-conscious, participants are encouraged to bring their own pre-filled water bottle, though water in compostable cups is provided at the finish line.
