defib.run at Chinley Community Centre

defib.run is a community fundraising run based at Chinley Community Centre, SK23 6BE. The event asks participants to navigate an unmarked course that visits six public defibrillators and returns to the Centre. The route is approximately 10+ km (about 6+ miles). A paper map is provided and participants may use a rolling start.

Participants may visit the six locations in any order. There is an orienteering puncher in each defibrillator location to record visits. Donations collected during the event are used to keep the existing defibrillators running and to help fund their replacement; the six devices were originally installed by the local community association at a cost of £1500 each and are nearing the end of their service lives.

The run takes place as part of the Chinley Fête at the same venue. Parking in the village is very limited. The Community Centre is opposite the railway station and has direct train services from Manchester Piccadilly. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
