Morland 'Marathon' - Morland, Cumbria

The Morland 'Marathon' is a trail ultra event held on Saturday 6th March 2027. The course covers 30 miles with approximately 3000 ft of ascent and is largely off-road on mixed, undulating terrain. The route runs around the Eden Valley, close to the Pennines to the east and the Howgills to the south, and reaches the edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park.

The route passes stone circles, waterfalls, lower lying fells, cairns, rivers, meadows, and historic villages. The course is fully tracked and includes four food and water checkpoints where water and snacks are provided. First aid will be available on the day.

Entries include a finishers medal; there is an option to purchase a finishers tee and an option to plant a tree through Trees Not Tees. There is a relay entry option. The event has a 12 hour time limit to complete the course and accepts runners and walkers aged over 20 on race day. Support runners are permitted but must be self-sufficient. Spectators are limited at checkpoints due to parking restrictions.

Take on the classic Latrigg fell race in Keswick, Lake District on 13 May 2026, a short but steep 3 mile climb with great views. Entry is available on the day for a small fee on a fully flagged route for runners aged 13 and up.

Keswick Mountain Festival combines swims, bikes, runs, hikes and triathlon events with talks, live music, exhibitors and camping over a weekend in mid May. Tickets are available until 12 May or while tickets last.

A fell race from the Showfield in Sedbergh up Winder with a steep ascent and descent. The event includes a senior 3.5 km course with 340 m climb and four junior distances and counts for the BOFRA championship.

Old County Tops is a Lake District fell race at New Dungeon Ghyll in Great Langdale on 16 May 2026. Expect a long, demanding 59 km mountain course with 3050 m of climb, raced in pairs for a thrilling test of endurance and navigation.
