The CBTE Morland 'Marathon' is a trail ultra scheduled for Sunday 8 March 2026. The route is 29 miles long, largely off-road on mixed terrain, and has about 3,000 ft of elevation. It starts and finishes in Morland (Morland Village Hall, CA10 3AS) near Penrith. The course runs near the Pennines to the east and the Howgills to the south, passing through undulating countryside in the Eden Valley and the edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. Route features include stone circles, waterfalls, lower lying fells, cairns, meadows, and historic villages. The event is open to runners and walkers and will be fully tracked on Open Tracking.

Practical information

Entries open 10 March 2025 and close 14 February 2026. Minimum age is 18 on the event date. Entry options and fees listed are: Solo £61 and Relay £80, with a £2 discount for affiliated runners. The entry package includes tracking, a finishers medal, a t-shirt, and water and snacks at three checkpoints. Prizes are awarded to 1st female, 1st male, 1st non-binary, 1st relay team, and 1st female and male in V50, V60 and V70 categories. The event organiser is The Charm Bracelet Marathon. Trail runs nearby

Run into the night on an unmarked rough route to Chapelfell Top in the Silent Night Race. This 6.6 km out and back with 370 m of climb requires navigation, strict kit and pre entry, making it a real test for experienced fell runners.

On 20 December take on the Beyond the Lune Skyline Winter Ultra, a 65 km loop from Kirkby Lonsdale climbing seven summits and finishing with beer or mulled wine and sourdough pizza. Tough, scenic and hugely satisfying.

Join Beyond the Lune Winter Editions for festive trail runs from The Royal Barn in Kirkby Lonsdale, with 5 km, 10 km and 20 km routes over rivers, footpaths and fells. Hot drinks, treats and a finisher beer add extra festive cheer.

Take on a classic Lake District fell around Latrigg on a flagged 8 km / 5 miles course with 460 m of climb and stunning views. Starts and finishes at Fitz Park Pavilion, Keswick, and pre entry via SiEntries is required.
