Morland 'Marathon'
The Morland 'Marathon' is a trail ultramarathon of 30 miles with approximately 3000 ft of ascent. The route is largely off‑road on mixed terrain and is fully tracked. It starts and finishes at Morland Village Hall CA10 3AS near Penrith and runs through the Eden Valley on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, passing close to the Pennines and the Howgills.
The course route includes stone circles, waterfalls, lower lying fells, cairns, rivers, meadows, and historic villages. There are four checkpoints offering water and snacks, and the event allows 12 hours to complete the course. The race holds permit ARC/26/0008.
Entry options include individual and relay places. Standard entry prices and the relay fee are stated for the event and include a finishers medal; a finishers T‑shirt is available to purchase separately. There is a minimum age of 20 on race day. Walkers are permitted provided they finish within the cut off. Dogs may take part but must be on a lead in livestock areas and on a short lead at the start. Support runners are allowed but must be self‑sufficient. First aid and event insurance are provided. Parking is available. The official GPX route is published but may be subject to minor changes.
