Event Overview
The Morland 'Marathon' is a trail ultramarathon with a distance of approximately 30 miles (48 km). It is open to both runners and walkers.
Course Details
The route is largely off-road, on mixed terrain, and features 3000 ft (approx. 914 m) of elevation. It starts and finishes in the village of Morland, near Penrith. The course hugs the Pennines to the east and the Howgills to the south, passing through the Eden Valley and the edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. The landscape includes undulating countryside, stone circles, waterfalls, lower lying fells, cairns, meadows, and historic villages.
Event Information
The event will be fully tracked via Open Tracking. The entry fee includes tracking, a finisher's medal, and water and snacks at four checkpoints along the route.
Trophies are awarded in several categories: first female, first male, first non-binary, first relay team, and first female and male in the V50, V60, and V70 age groups. There is a cut-off time for completion. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
