The Maverick Lakes X-Trail 2026

The Maverick Lakes X-Trail is a one-day trail running event in the Lake District, based at Grasmere Lakeland Sports & Show, Stock Lane, Grasmere, Ambleside LA22 9SL. The course network uses fell trails, lakeside paths and ancient woodlands around Easdale Tarn, Stickle Tarn, Pavey Ark, Harrison Stickle, Greater Langdale, Loughrigg Tarn, Rydal Head and the Fairfield Horseshoe.

Route options and elevation gains are provided so participants can choose according to distance and ascent. Outposts provide snacks, gels and electrolyte drink on the longer routes and there will be self-serve water barrels; there is no outpost on the Short route. The event supports trail maintenance with a donation of one pound from every entry to Fix the Fells.
