The NAV4 LiAD Recce from Caldbeck to Threlkeld is a guided 12-mile recce event covering the first section of the Lakes in a Day (LiAD) route. Participants navigate challenging terrain including the River Caldew ford, the ascent of Blencathra, and the steep descent of Hallsfell Ridge, with a total ascent and descent of 3,600 feet. The course features remote, rough fell terrain with grassy, wet trods and rocky sections. Hosted by experienced NAV4 tutors, the event offers valuable advice on navigation, gear, nutrition, and training strategies.
