Montane Grizedale Trail 13 & 26

The Montane Grizedale Trail starts and finishes at Grizedale Visitor Centre near Hawkshead in the Lake District (LA22 0QJ). The event offers two trail distances over forest tracks and varied terrain, including some road sections and undulating climbs with views toward Coniston and surrounding areas.

Distances:

  • Trail 13 : half marathon, the first 13 miles of the marathon route
  • Trail 26 : full marathon, includes an eastern loop toward Windermere

Runners must be at least 16 years old on race day and carry the items listed on the compulsory kit list. Entry fees are stated as £39 for the half marathon and £49 for the full marathon. Entries close when the event is full or on the Friday before the race at 12 noon.

There are mandatory cut off points because of limited daylight. Trail 26 runners must pass Food Stop 2 (13 miles) within 3.5 hours; the final course cut off for all distances is 7 hours 30 minutes from the start.

Entry includes a custom finisher’s medal, water at the half marathon finish, feedstations on the marathon route, electronic timing, and event photographs available to download from the official photographer. Dogs are not permitted to take part in the race but may attend the start and finish as supporters. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
