Grizedale Forest Trail 2027

The Grizedale Forest Trail features a half marathon and a marathon that start and finish at Grizedale Forest Visitor Centre near Hawkshead in the Lake District. The half marathon follows the first 13 miles of the marathon route on wide, well maintained forest tracks. The route is undulating with some road sections and varied terrain; it is not flat.

Marathon runners continue beyond the half marathon finish to complete an eastern loop with additional scenery toward and along the shores of Windermere. The course offers views of Coniston and surrounding areas as it returns to Grizedale Visitor Centre.

Entries have a discounted rate for the first 100 places then a higher general entry fee. Entries close either at 12 noon on the Friday prior to the event or when the event fills, whichever occurs first. Runners must be at least 16 years of age on race day and carry the items on a compulsory kit list.

Included with entry are a custom finisher's medal, drinks at the finish and on course, electronic timing, and official event photographs available to download in high resolution. The event is organised by Epic Events and timing is provided by Epic Events, with Results Base handling registration. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
