20 Barriers Race 2026

The 20 Barriers Race takes place in Carnforth on Tuesday 7 July 2026, with assembly at Carnforth High School, Kellet Road, Carnforth LA5 9LS.

The course is a 5 mile route on field paths, trails and the canal towpath in the countryside to the south of Carnforth. The route uses the traditional return through the old Lundsfield quarry area and follows yellow marker posts to the Kellet Road canal bridge, then crosses a pale green footbridge down to the towpath. There have been changes to the start and finish locations because of new perimeter fencing; maps and the pre-race briefing explain these changes.

Entry is on the night only with a £10 fee and no pre-entry. The event is held under FRA rules and competitors must be 16 or over on the day of the race. All profits are donated to the Kent Estuary Youth Project.

Goody bags are provided for the first three men and the first three women and there are additional spot prizes. Some water and juice will be available at the finish; participants are asked to bring a reusable drinking cup. Trail or studded shoes are advised. Use the main school car park on the east side of the school rather than the restricted town-side parking area. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
