Course and services

The race is designed in the style of a Vertical K - a continuous ascent from the event field. The route uses steep and stepped paths, passes the feature known as the "Hole in the Wall", runs the flats of the Red Tarn Basin, then makes a second ascent to the Swirral Edge ridge. The final section includes easy scrambling to the summit trig point at 950 m.

The event offers a fully marked course and a manned checkpoint. A professional Safety Officer and a supporting safety team are provided by Mountain Run. Finishers receive a recycled paper-mache wild flower seed bomb medal. The organiser is Lake District Sky Trails. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
