Blisco Dash

Ambleside, United Kingdom • 16 Jul 2025

The Blisco Dash is an informal, low-key summer evening fell race held in Great Langdale, Ambleside. Covering approximately 8 km with 650 meters of ascent, the challenging up-and-down course features a steep climb up Pike of Blisco, starting from the Old Dungeon Ghyll Hotel. Runners tackle a fast flat road section, a steep path alongside Redacre Gill, and a rocky summit requiring scrambling before a tricky descent back to the finish.

Navigational skills are essential, and full fell running kit is required. The race atmosphere is friendly and relaxed, with a unique prizegiving awarding small bottles of cheap French beer, favoring slower runners. Participants often celebrate post-race at the nearby Old Dungeon Ghyll pub. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
