Allendale Town, United Kingdom • 11 Apr 2026
The Allendale Challenge is a demanding 26-mile challenge walk held in Allendale, Northumberland, organized by the North of Tyne Mountain Rescue Team to raise funds for the charity. The anti-clockwise route ventures from Allendale through peat bogs of the North Pennines, passing Hard Rigg, Black Hill, and Kilhope Law before returning via Spartylea, The Drag and Ladlewell. Known as one of the toughest challenge walks, it attracts keen walkers and fell runners year after year. For 2026, the event will include electronic chip timing for faster, safer results. Entry includes a T-shirt and pin badge; proceeds support rescue operations. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
