Allendale Challenge 2027

The 36th Allendale Challenge is scheduled for Saturday 3 April 2027 in Allendale, Northumberland. The event is organised by North of Tyne Mountain Rescue Team to raise funds for the team, which provides volunteer search and rescue cover across the Northumbria Police area.

The event follows an anti-clockwise loop from Allendale town and covers 26 miles (42 km). The route includes Hard Rigg, Black Hill and Kilhope Law, and returns to the town via Spartylea, The Drag and Ladlewell. The terrain can be demanding and the weather on the day may be variable.

Entry information notes an Early Bird fee of £36 plus a processing fee when entered before 31 May. Entry includes a pin badge and a T shirt. The course is described as very popular and has sold out in past years.

The organising team is a charity run by volunteers and relies on donations to remain operational. The event supports that fundraising role while offering a long distance route through upland and moorland features in the Allendale area.
