Allendale Challenge
Allendale Town, United Kingdom • 11 Apr 2026
The Allendale Challenge, now in its 35th edition, is a 26-mile challenge walk in Allendale, Northumberland, organized by the North of Tyne Mountain Rescue Team to raise funds for the charity. The anti-clockwise route starts and finishes at Allendale Village Hall, weaving across peat bogs in the North Pennines, including Hard Rigg, Black Hill and Kilhope Law, returning via Spartylea, The Drag and Ladlewell. It is regarded as one of the toughest challenge walks and sells out each year. In 2026, electronic chip timing was introduced to improve safety and speed; entry includes a pin badge and T-shirt, with early-bird options available.
