Route and logistics

The route is a 26-mile (42 km) anti-clockwise loop starting and finishing in Allendale. It passes Hard Rigg, Black Hill and Kilhope Law, and returns via Spartylea, The Drag and Ladlewell. The course covers peat bogs in the North Pennines and can feature difficult weather and terrain. For 2026 the event will use electronic chip timing; the system is described as providing additional tracking and safety features, reducing waiting times at registration and checkpoints, and producing an accurate finish time at completion. The official venue is Allendale Village Hall. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
