The Isaac's Tea Trail Ultra takes place on the 1st of August 2026 in Allendale, Northumberland. The start and registration are at Allendale Village Hall.

The Route

The event follows the Isaac’s Tea Trail, a 37-mile loop starting and finishing in Allendale, passing through Ninebanks, Alston, and Nenthead. The entire route is within the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and UNESCO Global Geopark. The terrain is a mix of farmland tracks, riverside trails, minor roads, field boundaries, and moorland, with 4800ft of ascent. Participants must self-navigate using the permanent trail signage, markers, and available maps or GPX files.

Event Format

There is a 12-hour time limit to complete the route. The event offers two entry types: an individual ultra-distance run and a three-person team relay.

What's Included

Entry includes a branded tea towel, free event pictures, an event tracker for safety, and well-stocked checkpoints with cold drinks, snacks, fruit, and vegan sweets. Hot drinks are available at the race headquarters before and after the event. A donation from each entry goes toward the upkeep of the trail. The organiser is signed up to a responsible tourism charter.
